What is Swing?

I have discovered I truly need to find time for myself one of these days. At the moment I think I have taken on too many things, but to a certain degree it is to help me make life decisions. Hopefully when the thesis is written, my life will be less hectic and I will be able to have more sleep :)

Excitement for this week... I managed to ride a motorcycle for 3m up my driveway... Thanks Lincoln. I actually had a lot of fun, it was good to ride a bike myself, learn about the gears and acceleration and clutch. Coming from an automatic background, gears and clutch is very much a new concept for me.

I also drove from Ryde back to Bella Vista in a manual... only stalling once, and that was going into a driveway... so I was very proud of myself for that. I may have been a little slow... but still I managed! Thanks Nathan for having so much confidence in me that I weren't going to crash your car. Hopefully with a few more practices I will be a pro at driving a manual car.

Meet up with an old friend from Brisvegas this weekend. It is always fun to catch up with old friends. Catch up on stories, discuss the latest in scientific research.... yeah I know, it is rather nerdy. But we first met each other at nerd's camp... so it is expected, but he was actually in Sydney to teach Blues Swing. Drew, thanks for opening up my eyes to Swing Dancing. You are a great Blues teacher, and it was fun to learn about the "Centre" and how to move from the shoulder to the hips and to be one with the music. Techniques that I never fully thought about or appreciated. So it was a lot of fun, and I was glad to have been able to dance like I've never danced before. Also to really become one with the music. Also Linc, thanks for being my dance partner, or else I would have been the only beginner in the class, and would not have had anyone to dance with.

It appears you are just enjoying the best of life!! Biking, manual transmission and a little swing dancing. Mate I am jealous!!

And you said you have no time for fun, trust me..enjoy your life while you are single..b/c when you have kids there is no catching up on sleep and other things. However there are heaps more enjoyable things.
