Intro and Purpose

So why have I created this site?

Well this is my personal blog, I first started it to keep in contact with friends and family, especially those who are overseas. I like to keep in touch with family and friends, but I hate writing letters. Often I would write a letter and it would take a month before I finally finish writing it, by then events have passed and it’s no longer relevant. So having a blog is just a faster way to keep in touch.

Then I found this blog to be great as a little window into my thoughts.Sometimes it would be about wonderful food that I’ve tasted, or beautiful and gorgeous places that I have visited or would love to visit, or it could be a product review that have either evoked my wrath! Sometime it can be a bit heated, like my rant about TodayFM, but what is great is that it is a place where I can voice my opinion.

I love the fact that the Internet has allowed me a place to voice my opinions, also I love the freedom that we have here in Australia to voice my opinions and the ability to view websites without it being controlled by the Government.

And surprisingly, years after I started my blog, I will now also use my blog for University purposes. You may find a few blogs about e-learning, online education, social media perhaps. All this is part of my Masters course EDPC5003- Learning Tech. in Education & Practice. It has been fascinating to be part of this “Slow Food – Internet” revolution. Digesting of why and how we use the net…

Who knew that one day I would be using Twitter as my uni assignment… imagine a future where we will be doing exams and quizzes via tweets… Maybe slightly ahead of ourselves, but it is 2013 and we might just see a hoverboard flying down the street with Marty McFly as my neighbour.
