My family decided to celebrate Mother's Day earlier this year, we took mum out to dinner on Fri night instead. We all went into the city to have 鼎泰豐 (It just opened up in Sydney!) This is a big thing for us, as we have anticipated its opening for years, and it has been 8.5yrs since I last had 鼎泰豐 & its world famous 小籠包. It was just so yummy. I also had 酸辣湯, 蝦仁燒賣 and 豆沙小籠包. It brought back so many memories, especially memories of good food in Taiwan. Although I'm waiting for them to put 赤荳鬆糕 on the menu.

So after a wonderfully yummy dinner, we took mum to Lindt Chocolate Cafe for 70% chocolate ice cream, and dark hot chocolate... Hmmmm, it really top the night off I have to say.
It has been a pretty packed week I have to say... We had some BYU Young Ambassadors come and stay with us. They were just lovely people. Danielle and Melinda, you are just such beautiful girls, wonderfully talented and a pure delight to be around. The Young Ambassadors really does BYU proud, and the testimony they shared with people were just so touching. I really felt the spirit when they sang "I'm a child of God". I really wish they were here for longer, I really enjoyed their performance. The could sing, dance and entertain. I may just have to go to BYU to see their next performance.
I have also been busy working at CSIRO this week. It has been really fun learning about Gold and the Earth, as well as teaching little Kindergarten kids about science. I really love this job that I'm doing at the moment. Everyday is so different and a lot of fun, and I really enjoy seeing the kids faces when they discover something new, even if it is just stomping on an air rocket. Recently I have discovered that I do love my sciences, but what I love even more is interacting with children and let them discover the wonderful world of science.
Although I have to say working at CSIRO and trying to write up thesis at the same time can be rather stressful, lack of sleep really plays a big part of it all. But I'm still managing, it just means less social time, but hey I'm sure the reward will be well worth it.
Last little note, I have an obsession with motorcycles. I seriously need to get my own license. When I get on friend's bikes and go for a ride, the thrill and excitement of it is so tentalising. Can't wait for the day I can get my own Harley Davidson!

Happy Mums day!! I hoped your mum had a wonderful time and yous enjoyed all the yummy food there. There is also a nice Taiwanese restaurant close to where we live, so if you happen to be in the neighborhood, I can take you there.
Hey Jean,
You found me! Thanks for your nice comment and I will keep the treats coming! I am glad you have a blog, I haven't heard of anyone else having one, I guess most people just do facebook. But blogging is so much better! You need to write those dishes in English, I can't read characters but may know what you are talking about. Ben really misses the food from Taiwan, but sorry, I don't. We should go out with your family some time, maybe I would like it better.
Yep, your mom officially looks exactly the same. And I know you hate to hear it, but you really do look like her. :)
Don't get a Harley - that's an overpriced old man's bike! ;)
All the food looks sooo gooood! In Utah, we have Young Ambassadors, but no good Chinese food. :(
