Mini Olympics 2008

To think that we are approaching the end of winter, but at the same time we have just experienced some of the coldest days in Sydney. With temperature dropping to minus degrees in some places. How weird has the weather been? Anyway the reason I mentioned the weather is because I'm blaming the weather for my cold and flu and stuffy head. The lack of sleep may be a part of it, but I think it is because my body can no longer deal with the cold and wet weather. Although one good thing to come out of it is my month long cough will end up translating to great abs!

This is for Mitch, Amy and Hayley. They were sooo excited to have made it on my blog last time. I've decided to mention them again. This time there was no long walks on the beach by Bright-le-Sands.... but there was the Koreaness of Eastwood. We had fun watching Amy and Jacob slightly struggle with the Optus Noodles. Seriously was it that spicy??? Hayley and Miyagi... you guys rock with the spicyness... guess we just need to go to Korean restaurants more often.

Sat, had a Stake YSA Activity, it was sooo much fun. Can I just say... man some of those guys really know how to perform Rhythmic Gymnastic... next time round, Brock I'm so sending you to the Olympics :P

Overall it was a fun night and a great way to celebrate the Olympic Spirit. Our Olympics may have varied on its activities... such as Rubic Cube, dartboard, ballon animals... let's just say it was fun :)

Brock attempting the Cube the proper way... Frank just pulling it apart.

Andrew thinking the last putt... already 5 strokes overCha Cha Cha to end off the night
Can't believe those 16 days passed so quickly. Before you know it, it was the closing ceremony. I was really proud of the games, and the ceremonies. It really did show off what Chinese people can achieve. That said I still know there are a lot of human rights issues that needs to be sorted out, eg Tibet, Falun Tai Fai, etc.... all of which I do have a strong opinion on. Freedom to choose is a big deal for me. That said... I was proud of the Chinese people, and the wonderful things they presented to the world. Both the opening and closing ceremonies were brilliant, it showed off the Chinese culture, and I'm a proud Chinese :) I'm also thankful to be a Taiwanese born Chinese. It really is a great culture.
