This weekend in the papers I read an article by Mia Friedman on Sparents. It was quite an interesting article on how sometimes women who can't, chose not to, or have children at a later stage of life often become Sparents to other people's kids. That sparents often is not a bad thing, and it is someone that your child feels close enough to talk to, who are still like a parent figure.
I felt I had sparents growing up, and they looked after me adn gave me advice much like a parent would. I am very thankful for their support.
It also made me realise that our family has also become sparents to others, maybe not in the sense of a child, but we would look after Latte and he has become a sparedog to us in someway.
