I've been a little slack this week in terms of my blog.
Just been a massively busy week, been busy all last week trying to catch up with friends (high school, uni, church) Man my stomach feel so overwhelmed by the amount of food that I've eaten all this week.
A lack of sleep this week also haven't helped. Although waking up early was worth it for Obama's inauguration speech. I still can't believe I'm alive to see this day. It was such a powerful speech. I hope he will make a change and make a difference in this current point in time.
As I now work within governments, I realise that most of the time the leaders do try their best to ensure their constitutents are looked after. Sometimes they do make mistakes and the decisions made are not popular and stupid, but in certain areas they do try.
I guess what has been the best thing about the last Australian election and the American election is that the young people have become more interested in politics and have taken a stance. One of the things that gets me really annoyed is the fact that a lot of young people are very non-caring about their political states, and apathetic to what goes on in their own countries or the world over. It doesn't matter whether you are left-winged or right-winged, but as long as you take a stance and understand issues. The people we vote into government or leadership powers have the ability to change issues, and make decisions on our behalf. If we are giving that power to them, shouldn't we understand the type of policies and the character of the person we are voting in. I hope through this powerful and great day, we will all become more interested or at least take an interest in politics so we know who and what we are voting for.

Yeah it was funny that at work our whole dept hooked up a tv and were glue to it through the whole inauguration while being paid!! it was nice. Then the next we decided to go and have a girl (and we named her Michelle-not really)!! Interesting mix hey?
And we wonder why the economy is failing in the US. ;)
Yes, yes. It's true. We should be ignorant about where our tax money goes, and who decides what to do with our money.
