It is a portable electric breast pump, and boy has it come in handy.
Since I'm still completing my Masters degree, there has been a few days where I had to be away from my baby boy for pretty much the whole day. So the pump allowed me to express while I was at uni, it also made the process a lot faster and stopped my hands from getting RSI from all the pumping.
I also found the system more gentler than the Avent manual hand pump that I have as well, therefore gentler on my nipples.
I overheard the nurses at the maternity ward talk about nipple damage from certain pumps. So if you can test out a few pumps, it will be a good idea. Just to see what works better for you.
Now that I'm back at work full time, this pump has been even more handy. I can quickly pump whilst at work, at the same time have a drink of water, and read over my work. Apart from feeling like a milk cow, it really is quite easy to use.
So the pros and cons of this machine.
Pros:
- Easy to assemble
- Easy to use
- Relatively quiet if put on soft cushiny surface
- Fairly good battery life
- So portable
Cons:
- Only comes with one shield, would be great if it came with 2, rather than having to purchase it separately
- Cheap compare to what else is available
- I wish they had their manuals online, so that if I lost it I can still quickly google which parts can be sterilised or not.
